Benjamin
Segal - Tenor
Benjamin Segal has recently completed the opera course
at the GSMD and studies with Brian Parsons. He is a member of The Glyndebourne
Chorus. He has participated at summer festivals including the Britten Pears School,
Académie de Musical VilleCroze and Salzburg's
Mozarteum. He is also due to take up a place at The National Opera Studio.
Oratorio
performances include: Evangelist in St. John Passion, Missa Solemnis, Creation,
Coronation Mass and C Minor Mass (Mozart); Petite Messe Solennelle (Rossini);
Requiem (Mozart); Messe Solennelle de Sainte Cécile (Gounod); Stabat Mater
(Dvor‡k); Nelson Mass, Messiah, he has given recitals throughout the UK including
performances at Wigmore Hall and the Royal Opera House Crush Room.
Operatic
Roles include his Glyndebourne Festival debut as Monostatos/Die Zauberflšte; The
Mayor/Albert Herring (Snape Maltings Festival); The Husband/Les Mamelles De Tirésias;
La‘rte/Mignon (GSMD); School Master/Comedy On The Bridge; Snout/A Midsummer NightŐs
Dream and Oloferno Vitellozzo/Lucrezia Borgia (Chelsea Opera Group). He has also
performed Ferrando/Cos“ fan tutte; Tom Rakewell/The Rake's
Progress; Pang/Turandot; Oronte/Alcina; Lensky/Yevgeny Onyegin; Pedrillo/Die Entfźhrung
aus dem Serail as opera scenes.
Future
plans include a recording of Merrie England (Edward German) and a recital in the
Mayfair Concert programme.
