Sir Edward German Music Festival 2009

April 23rd - 28th 2009

The Festival 2009 is a unique opportunity to build on the undoubted success of the 2006 Festival. The aim is to stage a world class musical experience along side local musical talent.

The Festival is a celebration of the life and work of this famous son of Whitchurch.  It also offers the opportunity  to enjoy the music of British composers contemporary to Edward German who represent the zenith of British musical talent.

The schools and community programmes include the  concert version of the operetta Tom Jones and a school adaptation of Merrie England.

The master classes have been increased and we look forward to offering more talented young people the opportunity to perform with world class professional artists.

Preparations for the 2009 Sir Edward German Music Festival are now well underway. The programme has been finalised however, please note that the Friends of Whitchurch Heritage  reserve the right to change the programme, artists, venues and times without notice where necessary.
